The exhibition "Sterligov's School: St. Petersburg – Almaty", organized on the initiative of ANO Dialogue of Cultures with the support of Turan Express, was opened on October 7, 2018, at the Kazakh Art Center. It featured the works of students and followers of Vladimir Vasilyevich Sterligov, a prominent Russian avant-garde artist who created a unique spatial system in his paintings that had a significant impact on later generations of artists. The exhibition was dedicated to the memory of Rustam Khalfin, and in a way was a continuation of a project presented 10 years earlier at the A. Kasteev State Medical University in Kazakhstan. This time, however, the exhibition was on a larger scale, and artists from Sterligov's St. Petersburg studio took part, including Rustam's close friends and collaborators, Alexey Gostintsev and Elena Gritsenko. Alexander Nosov was also present at the event. At the event, visitors were able to see works by both Khalfin and his friend Yuri Gobanov, an artist from Arkhangelsk who belongs to the Sterligov studio. An art critic from Moscow, Irina Sterligova, known for her work preserving the legacy of V.V. Sterligov, was also in attendance at the Almaty event.

The project was initiated by the ANO "Dialogue of Cultures", with Makbali Musina as curator and the Turan Express Company as general sponsor. The exhibition also received support from the Tengri Umai Gallery, the Turan University, the Ruan Publishing House, the Art Eurasia Foundation, and the Kazakhstan Art Center.
