Seminar on the Theory and Practice of Contemporary Art, Tien Shan Observatory, Surroundings of Almaty
1997
A naked young man mounts a horse atop a large piece of wet clay and rides around the ground, leaving a footprint in the shape of a "natural saddle". This is a paradoxical attempt by the artist to actualize the idea of a nomadic existence, where nature and culture are inseparable, teaching the naturalness of behavior and pragmatism. The artist offers a completely ingenious approach to "modeling" life - to leave traces, then follow them through nature to culture by natural means.
Horse, Rider, Clay. Project participants: Zhanat Baymukhametov, Georgy Tryakin-Bukharov, Rustam Khalfin.
